Our first job isn't to talk about our firm.  Our first job is to listen to you.  At Rivers Investment Management, we are "Committed to Your Prosperity."  So let's talk about you. 

What does prosperity mean to you?  What values do you hold most dear?  Why is money important to you?  What would you like for your money to accomplish?  How did you accumulate your wealth?  Tell me about your family.  Is preserving multi-generational wealth a priority for you?

Are you a spiritual person?  If so, tell me about your faith.  Are there any charities that you are especially passionate about?

What restrictions would you impose?  What kind of tolerance do you have for investments that fluctuate in value?  Are there certain investments or investment strategies that you would prefer?  Are there any that you would rather avoid?

What are your expectations in terms of rate of return?  (Most of the time, investment plans are built on the economic outlook of the brokerage firm or the advisor.  While we will have opinions to offer about market expectations and will be able to provide extensive documentation from Wells Fargo Advisors regarding its capital market assumptions, it's far more important for you to decide what you believe.  It's your expectations and your forecast for the future that must be a vibrant part of what we do.)

By asking the right questions and discussing the answers, we believe we can help you describe and define your objectives in a clear and concise way.  Quite possibly, you may end the day being more comfortable than you have ever been with who you are, what you believe, where you want to go, and how you are going to get there.
